Planning for Games

At Tyngsboro Youth Soccer Association, we value the involvement and support of parents in ensuring a positive and organized game day experience for our young athletes. Here's some helpful information to assist you in planning for your child's soccer games:

1. Game Schedule

Stay informed about the game schedule for your child's team. Your child’s coach will let you know the schedule. Typically, we have our first 4 games scheduled out. Based on rankings after those games the teams will be adjusted and then the final games of the season will be posted. Any updates or changes will be communicated by the team coach or through our official communication channels.

2. Player Equipment

Ensure your child arrives at the game with the necessary equipment. This includes a properly inflated soccer ball, shin guards, soccer cleats, and the team uniform. Having the right gear ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

3. Hydration and Snacks

Encourage your child to stay hydrated before, during, and after the game. Pack a water bottle and a light, nutritious snack to keep their energy levels up. It's essential for players to be well-hydrated and fueled for optimal performance.

4. Arrival Time

Plan to arrive at the game venue with enough time for your child to warm up and for any pre-game instructions from the coach. Being punctual helps create a positive atmosphere and ensures that the team can start the game on time.

5. Sideline Etiquette

Supportive and positive sideline behavior contributes to a great game experience for everyone. Cheer for all players, show respect to the referees, and avoid any negative comments. Remember that the focus is on the children having fun and learning from the game.

6. Communication with Coaches

Maintain open communication with your child's coach. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out. Coaches are there to support the players and parents, and your input is valuable for the overall success of the team.

7. Weather Preparedness

Be prepared for various weather conditions. Dress your child appropriately for the day's weather, and consider bringing items like sunscreen, hats, or extra layers if needed. In case of inclement weather, check for any updates or cancellations from the league or team.

8. Post-Game Celebrations

After the game, celebrate the efforts of both teams and reinforce positive sportsmanship. Win or lose, focus on the enjoyment of the game and the valuable lessons learned. Consider organizing small post-game gatherings to strengthen the sense of community among parents and players.

9. Stay Connected

Stay connected with the Tyngsboro Youth Soccer community through our website, social media channels, and team communication platforms. Regular updates and announcements will keep you informed about events, fundraisers, and other important information.

10. Chair and blanket

Be sure to not only prepare your child, but you as well. Bring a folding chair, snacks and a blanket on those cold days. We do have a snack shack with limited hours.
